Heated Dog Bed - Guide To Buying Heated Pet Beds

Buying a heated dog bed for your pet is a great way to keep them warm in winter, but did you also know that a heated pet bed can be used all year round?

Even in summer, most air-conditioned houses are too cold for small pets. All the cold air sinks to the floor, where the spend most of their time.

When buying a heated dog bed you need to keep several things in mind.

First

Look for a bed that has a removable and washable cover. This will help to keep it looking newer, longer. Also, if the cover starts to look old, you can just replace it with a new one, making your investment last longer.

Second

If you are going to use it outside, make sure it is weather proof. But even heated kennel pads that are waterproof should still be given some protection from the elements.

Third

Look for a heated canine bed that is UL rated. This is a basic safety rating for electrical products. Basically an independent lab states that this be is safe and won't shock your dog.

Fourth

Make sure you buy a bed that is the proper size. Some dogs like to sleep curled up in a ball, where other dogs like to sleep flat out on their sides. So obviously if your dog sleeps in a ball, you can buy a smaller bed.

These buying tips also apply to heated dog pads, heated cat beds, and heated kennels as well.
